Though I wouldn't have been able to fit into this dress at any point over the last 5 years, and I love it, it still shows me how much more I'd like to lose. Not a whole lot, but more.

And it's because of this man that I'd like to stay healthy. I'm very healthy at this point except for the wheat intolerance and the anemia. I feel that it's my job to keep myself healthy so that I am able to be with him for a very long time to come.

With that in mind, I need motivation to keep moving forward and therefore this blog is born. I'd like to keep it fun and share the things that works for me and my experiences!

Today's walk was rough. I needed to walk 6 miles to stay on track with my half marathon training, but after having a day off yesterday I was really resisting the idea of walking. It needed to be a new path for me to be able to do it. I looked at the map and have walked most of the 3 neighborhoods close by. So, I thought about taking a bus to downtown and walking or another interesting neighborhood, but didn't want to leave our new puppy that long.

So, I decided to get onto our crossroad by the apartment and just head towards downtown. Once I accomplished 3 miles, turn around and walk back.

The walk ended up being very interesting. For one, I didn't have any of my normal walking clothes clean so had to wear baggy capris. They just make me look way larger than I am. That idea almost kept me from walking out the door. But, no, I have a promise to keep with my partner. So, out the door I went.

This walk was actually very beneficial to me. For one, I caught what I looked like in a reflection but even though I was sloppy looking, I knew that I was accomplishing something that most people won't AND that many people find me attractive because of who I am, not what I look like. That put a smile on my face and cars that were stopped at stop lights as I walked by, saw my smile and smiled back.

It was very refreshing for me and it was because of that moment that I finally came up with a title for my domain and blog. Walking Qadishtu.

I wanted a blog that kept track of my mission to become healthier and embrace my spiritual path. There will be many posts on here that will range from pictures taken on my walks, updates on my relationships, thoughts about being a Qadishtu and what a Qadishtu is, general reflections on my path, etc. etc. There may even be a recipe or two as I continue to eat a required gluten-free diet and a preferred paleo based diet.

You are welcome to join me on my adventure. The more the merrier!
